Our February 2021 gardening day saw a dozen of us, including our latest 4 year old member, do a thorough weeding of 2 rose beds and a de-weeding of many of the paths. A very productive session well-supported with Amy's delicious homemade lemon biscuits! Everyone commented on the joy of being in the fresh air, spending a purposeful couple of hours digging, catching up on stories of our connections with the garden, getting to know new local people and comparing experiences of how we're handling the latest lockdown - from remote working and home-schooling to online circuit, yoga and zumba sessions to bridge and meditation sessions. Conserving the environmental and historical legacy is definitely a way to ease lockdown blues and re-connect with each other and nature.
